Sexual Behavior of the Three-Way Female in Today's Society
Defining the three-way-female within the context of sexual behavior, desire and response appears at first glance to be a rather simple thing to do. She is a female who is capable of receiving the same or almost the same amount of erotic arousal (often to orgasm) by contact and/or penetration and coital movements in the anus and mouth, as in contact and/or penetration at the genitalia (clitoris, vulva and vagina).
Yet, as with so many generalizations and broad definitions, this in no way imparts or implies the numerous degrees of sensitivity in each of the three orifices, nor does it attempt to explain the physical and psychological roots of these preferred manifestations of sexual behavior. It is like defining an orange as a fruit, not even mentioning that it is a citrus fruit, that it grows only under certain climatic conditions, that it is a fruit with a very high degree of Vitamin C, that it may be purchased in seedless or regular form, etc.
Sometimes, examples are better than the most thoroughly composed clinical explanations. Conversely, these examples may be of great help to the layman a seriously interested primary scholars (particularly those who pursue the study of psychology, sexolog) and human behavior as avocations) as a teaching tool to understand better the more clinical explanations and comments that appear later.
By presenting a dozen or more factual and intimately detailed case-histories and behavioral reports, and then explaining the psychodynamics and other contributory factors of both mental and physical natures, the reader learns from example. He can picture and perhaps identify or empathize with the feelings of individuals within the report, and then utilize the professional commentary following each report as a supplementary explanation that may make him more conversant with the subject at hand.
I would like to begin on a much broader scale, however, before getting down to the more complete studies of individual cases in the chapters which will follow these first two introductory chapters. To effect this, I can think of nothing better than to present a few selected passages from some of the reports to be presented later, which rather succinctly present a summary, we might say, of the overall behavior involved.
These brief examples will consist of actual quotes from those participating in three-way sexual behavior as gleaned from the documentary studies of the three way-female conducted for this internationally researched volume.
A female contributor to much of my research into. current sexual behavior patterns told me of an immigrant wife's depravity that was a result of her cruel husband's unorthodox awakening of three-way sexual response, in these words: " ... had never even kissed man ... So, on their honeymoon, he introduced her to oral sex-that was the first thing. Then later, instead of entering her cunt, he attempted and with success entered her rectum to climax ... He made an offer to another male friend to help 'pop her cherry' for price. He also got his brother and these three men took her together. He explained to his wife that this was the way it was done in America. She went right along with his plan and the three men screwed he together at one time! A well-known European playboy told me of his experiences with a sexually manic husband from the Riviera jet-set, and his very young bride: 'The majority of the women going to these hotels particulars are not very young; for that reason as soon as Josetto entered so young, fresh and pretty, looking as a teenager ... she was absolutely assaulted by five men who managed to kiss, lick, suck and fuck her on all parts of the body they could reach ... A swinging young couple in Pennsylvania who responded to almost all forms of stimuli and indulged it the practice of erotic correspondence, showed me a series of letters they had received from a swinging communal group (they claimed) in New Jersey. While I feel that all the events in this instance are not quite true, the letters certainly represent the desires and fantasies of the individual or individuals involved, and is therefore quite germane to this study. The letter was signed by "Sara,"
"Laura,"
"Helen" and "Bob," and is allegedly written by "Sara." Here is a most pertinent excerpt:
"I've enclosed a color photo of Helen sucking the cock of the Negro maintenance man ... A threesome would sound nice with you and since you have a rather different sort of prick, Al, I'd love to suck on it and even swallow your sperm while Bob fucked me in the ass or cunt. But just think if Doris were to join us or just Al, you and Doris. You could eat Doris and Doris could eat Al or vice versa. There are many, many variations. Or I or Laura could be sucking you off while Al is fucking one of us in the ass and Doris is sucking my cunt ... Have you sucked Doris' asshole yet? ... A beautiful young female physician in an Asian country revealed the details of a very amazing spontaneous sexual orgy in which she was involved, and the discovery of her own three-way sexual sensitivity. She employs the use of letters to designate the participants in the complete report, as in this short excerpt: "A. sat over my mouth offering her vagina for me to suck. B. told me to put my tongue in that vagina, which I did. C. sat over my belly raising my legs and pressing them held under her armpits ... [she] entered her two fingers in my vagina. B. started to have back entry in my raised buttocks. B. brought oil and C. applied it over my back hole and on the organ of B. in profuse...."
A thirty-four-year-old housewife and mother of two, related how the elements of sadomasochism were involved in the three-way sexual relations participated in between her and her university professor husband, as well as a Lesbian lover and other swingers: "Carl (my husband) and I love French and Greek arts; we . find that these forms synchronize perfectly with orthodox lovemaking ... I love to assume the dog position and have him penetrate my vagina and anus alternately, then as I approach climax, have him concentrate his penis in my rectum, moving it smoothly up and down the whole length of my anal canal in long, strong strokes while massaging my vulva with his hands ... I love to keep Carl's half limp penis inside my mouth after he ejaculates ... It gives me an exhilarating sensation to feel his cock get bigger and bigger in my mouth. Carl's sperm smells and tastes a lot like young, fresh pine cones."
A strikingly lovely Hong Bong prostitute of nineteen who demands top prices as a call girl because of her innocently beautiful nymphet appearance divulged the following to my research assistant in Asia, during the course of a long interview: "When I was fifteen-years-old a foreign traveller finished with my mother and ... wanted me ... He kissed and embraced me. Then he put his penis in my mouth. As I was an expert in that line I found no difficulty in it ... He began licking my anus. He put his tongue in that hole and then he would put his finger in it ... Later on I became a professional pleasure girl and several times had the intercourse in the anus. I was an expert in that type of intercourse. Moreover it is believed that anal intercourse will enlarge the buttocks and make their sight a great pleasure, and to feel and kiss."
A twenty-four-year-old swinging housewife revealed in great detail some of the variations enjoyed by many three-way-females. She was a coprolalic and indulged heavily in the most erotic type of correspondence with other swingers of offbeat interests. In a small excerpt, she managed to include the following: " ... a fifteen inch long drumstick which we use at the same time he screws me or I suck him off, and it's used in whichever hole is vacunt at the time ... That's how I got started on enjoying penetration in my rectum. This girl loved to have me, lay on my stomach while she kneeled between my legs. She would tongue kiss my mouth, lick all over my back and sides of my breasts, then spread apart the cheeks of my butt and lick and kiss all up and down the crack, finally ending up inserting her tongue in my back hole at the same time putting one or two fingers in my cunt, sometimes my ass too...."
What kind of percentages am I talking about when I present these largely verified statements from today's sexual activists? Unfortunately, there are no completely reliable statistics as to prevalence and frequency that are available. Sex is still too personal and private for many people to allow anything approaching a completely accurate statistic. However, the well-read person of today may realize that a great number of females (reliable estimates from the Kinsey samplings and other authoritative sources put the degree at 50% and above) may have experienced tactile and/or penetrative stimulation through the use of the mouth and/or anus by the employment of the sex partner's mouth, genitalia, lips, nipples, and other parts of the body, as well as inanimate objects.
We do not find, for instance, that every woman sensitive at the anus is desirous of complete penile or other penetration. She may only like analingus (the licking of the anus), the introduction of a finger or a small object such as an enema or douche nozzle. In some rare cases, the other extreme is encountered: a female capable of orgasm only by complete anal penetration and coital movements.
In a sense, oralism applies to almost all sex partners to one degree or another. Almost any couple dating or embarking on the road to more serious lovemaking, begin by kissing on the mouth. They may graduate then to "French" or "soul" kissing (although these terms also are used in speaking of oragenital activity), in which the tongue often acts as a phallic symbol. The female who craves to suck the tongue of her lover and prefers men with large oral lingua, is almost always performing allusive fellatio.
Actual fellatio, or the sucking of the male organ by the female lover is probably more common today than it has been for two thousand years or more. It is just as common a practice among married couples and those seriously in love, as it is among the more promiscuous. Many prostitutes, however, have always "specialized" in fellatio exclusively, and more than ever when appealing to the American or European.
Of course, the seat of primary sexual feeling in the female generally is the clitoris, the pea shaped little organ located near the top of the vulva and sometimes quite large and erect when excited, but difficult to distinguish in the case of some females. Capable of sexual response to a somewhat lesser degree usually are the inner and outer vaginal lips (particularly the nymphae or inner lips), and other fleshy parts including specifically the nerve studded entrance to the vaginal canal.
During regular coitus, nearly all of these parts are brought into frictional contact with the thrusting male organ, and the end result for both love partners is the orgasm or climax after the organs have stimulated each other for the desired length of time.
Since almost 100% of female love partners kiss on the mouth and other parts of the body during both foreplay and coitus, almost every sexually active female could be classed as "two-way," i.e.-she is erotically responsive to stimuli in the form of contact at both the mouth and genitals. Even the female who refuses to fellate the penis (usually because of some deep-rooted belief that it is "abnormal" or "dirty, performs pseudo-fellatio (and pseudo cunnilingus in the case of Lesbian liaisons) either consciously or subconsciously in the act of open mouth and tongue kissing. She is revealing in her. own way that there is at least a potential desire lurking within her for oragenital contact, or sucking of the nipple or other secondary erogenous zone.
Anal response is, to a great degree, a more subtly (and often subconsciously) felt sensation. While many married couples and other average love partners enjoy anal intercourse or contact to one degree or another, it is a practice which seems to be more quantitatively preferred among the very sexually active, the swingers and, quite understandably, the male homosexual. The act of penetrative anal intercourse, in fact, has been so long associated with male pederasty that many heterosexual love partners give it a perverted and unnatural association.
In talking with one distressed young wife whose husband had terrified her when he merely hinted at anal intercourse while copulating in the position of venus aversa or dog-fashion, she strongly denied that she was capable of any erotic response at the anus, calling it "dirty." After much reflection and discussion, however, she admitted that her husband had nearly always "played around" with his fingers at her anus during genital intercourse. She had deliberately blocked it from her mind, but then finally confessed that this probably did make the marital act a little "sexier."
This woman, already uninhibited enough to enjoy the sucking of her husband's penis to ejaculation, found out that despite her initial hang-up, she was indeed a three-way-female. This is not, of course, to say that this female committed what medical and psychological authorities today consider unnatural or abnormal acts. She was not promiscuous, had never been unfaithful, and was not a swinger. Site was simply an attractive and sexually responsive married woman in her late twenties who eventually discovered that she could enjoy (even to climax) the penetration of her husband's erect membrum virile and ensuing copulation in all three of her principal bodily entrances.
I do not think it is going too far to say that any physically normal female without inhibitions, fixated fears or other psychic problems, has the definite potential to achieve erotic pleasure from tactile stimulation and/or penetration at all three of these orifices. Indeed, there are some females who can achieve orgasm only from oral or anal intercourse. Others, I have found, are almost equally sensitive at all three points.
In the sex partying world of today's swingers (estimated to number in the millions in the U.S. alone), oragenital, anal-genital and anal-oral contacts and penetration are among the most popular interpersonal practices. In instances of the "group-grope" or group connections, a female is often coited with in all three openings simultaneously.
In the absence of enough men (or enough potent men), the breasts of another female are often sucked by the three-way-girl, or she may cunnilingue another. Dildoes, vibrators of various shapes including those specifically designed for rectal use, fingers, etc., may substitute for the live penis in one or more of these openings. "You haven't lived," one young woman stated to a female research assistant, "until you've sucked a vibrating dildo with sex juice all over it...."
Some of the other contributors to this research have actually experienced or witnessed burning, tubular shaped light bulbs inserted both rectally and vaginally. One man told of a particularly unusual "game" he had devised. He pushes a long and heavy string with large knots at about one or two inch intervals into the greased rectum of his female love partner. The sensations as the string is slowly (or fastly) pulled out provides "indescribably sexy" stimulus at the anal stricture muscle as each knot passes through.
Sadomasochism plays a part in much of today's swinging activities, and females are sometimes rectally "raped" during a depraved gathering or at the hands of a sadistic lover. In many instances, despite her cries of protest and shrieks of pain, the female receives a masochistic pleasure from this abuse. She may, in fact, invite it, yet make it seem that it was forced upon her, thus relieving her conscience of "guilt."
The female who is emotionally unstable (as so many sex variants and swingers appear to be, in my opinion) may be motivated by desire for forceful entry as a throwback to her first vaginal "rape" or the forcefulness and pain involved in the original breaking of her hymen. She may be attempting to purge herself of a "rape complex" by deliberately goading her lover to take her anally. The experience is thus symbolic of the "fresh suffering" of her defloration.
I believe, in effect, that we can say there are both 'natural and normal" and "unnatural and abnormal ways of enjoying almost any variation of sexual behavior. The Kinsey reports (Sexual Behavior in the Human Female, Saunders, Philadelphia 1953) provided some valuable information on instances of anal masturbation and analingus (two methods by which anal erotic Lesbians often satisfy each other), which may also be included as methods of anal intercourse:
"The anal area is erotically responsive in some individuals. In others it appears to have no erotic significance even though it may be highly sensitive to tactile stimulation. As many as half or more of the population may find some degree of erotic satisfaction in anal stimulation, but good incidence data are not available. There are some males and females who may be as aroused erotically by anal stimulation as they are by stimulation of the genitalia, or who may be more intensely aroused."
The classical study of human sexual behavior makes a very interesting comparison between the anus and vulva-vagina of the female that is certainly germane to study of the three-way-female: "[perhaps a majority of females] find that when coitus involves deep vaginal penetrations, they secure a type of satisfaction which differs from that provided by the stimulation of the labia or clitoris alone. In view of the evidence that the walls of the vagina are ordinarily insensitive, it is obvious that the satisfactions obtained from vaginal penetration must depend on some mechanism that lies outside the vaginal walls themselves.
"There is a parallel situation in anal coitus. The anus, like the entrance to the vagina, is richly supplied with nerves, but the rectum, like the depths of the vagina, is a tube which is poorly supplied with sensory nerves. However, the receiving partner, female or male, often reports that the deep penetration of the rectum may bring satisfaction which is, in many respects, comparable to that which may be obtained from a deep vaginal insertion.
The heterosexual male in group-sex or swinging may want to have anal intercourse with his wife or other female to satisfy a conscious or subconscious homosexual element in his personality. This type equates anal intercourse with male inversion and is thus able to satisfy this small degree of desire in a way that will do no harm to his male image.
Conversely, Freud, in his Three Essays on the Theory of Sexuality (Basic Books, New York 1982) has an explanation that I think is more to the point: "The playing of a sexual part by the mucous membrane of the anus is by no means limited to intercourse between men: preference for it is in no way characteristic of inverted feeling. On the contrary, it seems that pedicatio with a male owes its origin to an analogy with a similar act performed with a woman...."
This observation seems very logical in that most homosexuals have or still do harbor desires (often subconsciously) for a sex relation with an attractively configurated female. The term "piece of ass," for instance, is not a homosexual, but a heterosexual expression, and usually refers to regular vaginal coitus rather than anal intercourse. So, if we assume that a homosexual's "hang-up" involves a deep seated fear of women, a "Don Juan" or Oedipus complex, or a bashfulness that makes it all but impossible for him to approach a woman, he looks for the configuration of the male anatomy associated with sex, that is most like the female's. The part is, of course, the buttocks, and it has an opening capable of accepting the penis in much the same way as the vagina.
There are, of course, a great many variations of behavior and postures utilized in sexual satisfaction of the three-way-female. One of these is known as despunta (from a Spanish word meaning "to blunt," as with a needle). This form of practice allows three-way penetration by the male organs, but only involves a threesome of two males and one female.
A very young and attractive divorcee who is quite active in swinging and group sex, explained despunta to me in this very candid and outspoken manner: "It's like a real triple groove ... a blast! I mean, you have to see it and feel it to believe it. I like it in a threesome best, but it's a good stunt at a swinging orgy too. I would hesitate to call anyone a "sex maniac" simply because she is capable of enjoying penetration and contact at all three of her principal bodily openings. This particular female may appear a bit variant and, possibly even perverted, but not because of her three-way response.
The desire for the female to perform fellatio, for example, is almost as universal (though often repressed) as the wish for the male to suck the nipples and breasts of his female love partner. This may emanate from the simple Freudian desire to suck, a rebirth of sensations enjoyed in infancy, which are never fully forgotten. The penis also gives "milk,' which the female breast provides only during the infant's nursing period. Of course, the motivation to suck the penis may stem from early fixations of a different nature too.
No matter what the motivation though, the desire for the male to have his penis sucked and the female's urge to do so is demonstrated and suggested consciously or subconsciously in much of the modern media surrounding us. The "sexily" puckered lips of a movie or TV actress, those of a girl in a lipstick ad or commercial, frequently are configurated to an unusual roundness that seems to denote more than a kiss on the mouth. Most males who are actively sexual draw the inference that the lips are rounded in a way that could easily accommodate the pleasurable insertion of their penis for fellatio.
Strippers and go-go dancers, exotics, pin-ups and nude models, all make use of oral poses and gestures that emulate cunnilingus and fellatio poses. The classic come on of the bar girl pick-up or prostitute is a slow, suggestive, teasing licking of the lips with the mouth slightly open, plus various sucking motions. The girl's eyes may be directed to the male's trousers while she does this.
In their book on the female, the Kinsey researchers discovered that a survey of men's room graffiti revealed 41% pertained to oragenital relations, while only 36% referred to genital-to-genital intercourse. Porter Davis in his long standing work, Handbook for Husbands and Wives (Banner, Inglewood 1949) writes very candidly that: "Such a practice [fellatio and/or cunnilingus] is undoubtedly the commonest dream of the male."
Three-way female response is not, of course, limited to the swingers and wife swappers, group sex addicts, the oversexed and the promiscuous. I have already noted a case where a married couple found great sexual pleasure by utilizing all three female openings at one time or another, both in foreplay and to occasional orgasm. Two people may also provide three-way contact and penetration for the female partner by the use of dildoes, vibrators, drumsticks and other phallic objects, while the mono-penile male employs his penis at one of the entrances.
A married woman reports that she enjoys the strong sucking of her husband's tongue and thinks of it as his penis (or an extension of his penis) while he is coiting with her vaginally and inserting one or more lubricated fingers deeply into her rectum. All three elements merge into a kind of "rhythm" of copulation that is enjoyed immensely by both man and wife.
Another woman likes to suck the fingers of her lover as he performs anal intercourse upon her and utilizes a dildo with a "tickler" attachment in her vagina. Also, a variation for two is worked out in which the female sucks the penis of her lover as he sucks and licks her clitoris and employs his thumb in her vagina and forefinger in her anus, rocking his hand back and forth so that the thumb penetrates her vagina as his forefinger comes almost out of the anus. One might say that this provides four-way stimulation if the thumb is able to contact a sensitive part of the vulva.
Nor does the autoerotic female have to be left out of three-way sexual stimuli. Through the use of her own fingers and other objects she may achieve anything up to complete penetration and coitus-like movements at all three entrances.
I recall one very introverted though highly sexed young woman who consulted me and explained how she used three cucumbers,, one in each orifice, in a most unusually effective way. She also utilized a large mirror on her closet door so that she could watch herself while the mirror also served as an aid in her act. First of all, she would drop the cucumbers in boiling water for a few seconds to soften the outer skins and give them what she described as "the feeling of real flesh." She lubricated two of the cucumbers, inserting one in her vagina, which she held, and forcing the other into her rectum, touching the mirror with the outside end of it so that she could move backward and forward, the muscles of her anus pushing it out as she went forward, the mirror pushing it deep inside as she went backward.
To complete her auto-orgy, she would remove the cucumber she had been moving in and out of her vagina (which was thoroughly lubricated with its own secretions by then) and suck on it violently as she pushed the third cucumber in her vagina. Thus, by moving her hands and body, she was able to create three-way penetration and coital-like movements.
The immense interest in the three-way female by both men and women is aptly demonstrated in much of the legalized, hard-core, photographic pornography coming out of Sweden and Denmark today. Technically beautiful color photography is utilized in these fullphoto magazines, such as Prince, Pocket-Porno, Color Climax, Fucking, Color Orgie, etc., to illustrate lovely and voluptuous Scandinavian teenagers receiving large male penises at mouth, anus and vagina.
As a color contrast, the trio of male partners is often composed of a very light Caucasian, a very dark Negro, and an Asian. The black and white penises are frequently employed in a "crotch shot," one in the vagina, the other penetrating the young girl's rectum. She may also be photographed with all three, entering her simultaneously in copulative movements. In addition, there is always a close-up of each man coming in her mouth and his ejaculate oozing out and around her cheeks and chin. Sometimes, she will be depicted in a series of photos fellating a male, and the last photo will show his penis ejaculating the viscous semen all over her beautiful face and into her hair, over her breasts, etc.
The many studies in this internationally researched volume should make it abundantly clear that the three-way-female and group-sex are certainly not peculiar to the U.S., or even to the Americas and Europe. During the scope of my research, I have found that the phenomenon crosses over the lines of geography, religion, nationalities, races and ethnic groups, as well as political orientation; all with complete in discrimination.
I have carefully documented reports from every major continent and almost every major country of the world. And, as space will allow, I will attempt to make as diversified a presentation as possible, largely to point out that surface motivations are often misunderstood, while certain basic roots, regardless of accepted standards of morality, may be similar and related.
Certainly, no ethical authority in the medical, psychological and social disciplines would condone sexual behavior that is harmful to an individual, Yet there is much to be derived from an understanding, basic knowledge of what may be considered "al normal", and "unnatural" behavior by man. It was with this idea it was believed that the prominent Viennese professor of psychiatry who was Freud's ach al teacher, Richard von Krafft-Ebing, published his pioneering study (238 case histories) in sexual documentary form-Psychopathia Sexualis. It was hoped that this grandfather of all the sexual documentaries might have a "beneficent influence upon the commonweal.
"Its commercial success," noted the preface to the 12th edition of this classic work, which was introduced in English by New York psychiatrist, Dr. Victor Robinson (Pioneer, New York 1939), "is the be proof that large numbers of unfortunate people find in its pages instruction and relief in the frequently enigmatical manifestations of sexual life. The hosts of letters that have reached the author from all parts of the world substantiate this assumption. Compassion and sympathy are strongly elicited by the perusal of these letters, which are written chiefly by men of refined thought and of high social and scientific standings. They reveal the sufferings of the soul in comparison to which all other afflictions as dealt of by fate appear as trifles. May it continue to convey solace and social elevation to its readers."
In this same spirit, with this same hope for understanding and the gaining of knowledge and insight into the psychodynamics of human sexual behavior this study is also presented, Individuals who ma have experienced the same desires or other sensations as those in the individual chapter reports, may not only more clearly understand the nature and relevancy of their own emotions, but be comforted in a sense, by the knowledge that they are certainly not alone, not uniquely disturbed and troubled, but share their problems with others.
I do not make any pretense at providing a "cure" or drastic change in one's orientation simply by exposure to such information and analysis. However, in addition to some degree of therapeutic value that may be derived, the reader is also more likely to be encouraged to judge his own situation better as to its "normality" and degree, and to seek professional help if it is warranted.
I present this study, more than anything else, as part of a continuum, a never-ending contribution of knowledge, an educational tool, both for the professional and seriously interested layman alike, in the growing repository of information available for the study of human sexual behavior and the concomitant psychological factors, extant in our various cultures and societies today.
