Chapter 3
By now, Roger was considered one of the most eligible young bachelors in Meadow brook, if not in all of Ohio. Mothers wanted their daughters to become acquainted with the young man who, on his last summer hiatus, had secured for himself a place in the firm of Collins and Cole, the largest engineering firm in that part of the country. He had earned ten thousand dollars over the summer, and his job, which would be as a world-wide troubleshooter for the company, would commence as soon as he was out of college. He would start at seventy-five thousand a year, plus expenses. His expense account was virtually unlimited. Therefore, whatever Uncle Sam and the State of Ohio didn't take from his salary would go directly into the bank. In addition, there were to be huge bonuses, including the initial hundred thousand dollar bonus they had given him to sign with their firm.
It was only natural that Andrea, daughter of what had been the town's richest scion, would suddenly develop an interest in Roger, though following the kindergarten fiasco, she had put him out of her mind. In fact, she had completely forgotten what had taken place in kindergarten, and didn't associate the tall, ruggedly handsome Roger with the little boy she had convinced to show his penis. Even if she had remembered, the penis he sported at present looked totally different from the way it had looked then, and she would never have recognized it.
Andrea's father was dead. Her mother was only interested in her own earthy pleasures, and as a result kept no tabs on her daughter, whatsoever. If Andrea went out on a Monday and didn't return until the following Sunday evening, her mother neither knew nor cared.
Andrea was well aware that when her mother died, whatever was left of her father's fortune would come to her. That was what she was waiting for, hoping her mother's gluttonous and hedonistic pleasures would put her in an early grave. At the same time, in order to secure her future in case her mother managed to spend everything, Andrea began scouting for eligible men to marry, which was how she came to find out about Roger. His prospects were fantastic, and it was rumored that within ten to fifteen years, he would probably be running the entire firm, drawing a ten million dollar annual salary, taking almost as much in cash bonuses, and an additional ten to twenty million a year in stock options.
Roger seemed like exactly the right kind of person for her to meet, and she was wondering how she might make his acquaintance, when he surprised her by stopping by her father's mansion one day while she was home. The surprise was both, that he was stopping by, and that she happened to be home at the time. Andrea was almost never home. What Andrea didn't know was that Roger had paid one of his friends, who had recently gone to work for an investigation agency, to keep an eye on Andrea and let him know when she was home. Not only that, but Roger soon came to know everything about Andrea, including the fact that she would never be missed if she were to totally disappear. How absolutely delicious!
Roger had a full dossier on Andrea's sexual activities in college. He knew the names of every person with whom she had slept, and had found out through his private investigator just what kinds of sex she liked most, but more important, he also found out what kinds of sex Andrea didn't like. When he dis-coverd this last, he smiled, because it fitted in perfectly with what he had in mind.
