Conclusion
The findings of this study clearly point to one main fact: simply, that human sexuality is a many-faceted thing and cannot be suppressed easily. Even a society like our own which, despite the recent "sexual freedom" expression, is still officially and legally a sexually repressive and inhibited one, fails to totally submerge the great sex drives within us all. The clash between society in general and sexual impulses causes endless individual and group conflicts and contradictions.
Orality is one area in particular that brings forth the greatest confusion. While there is a slowly awakening group of legislators and officials who are realizing the importance and prevalence of this sexual expression, there are still too many authorities who shun the act of oral love as "indecent". Oral fetishes are singled out for stern appraisal by civic leaders who privately indulge in the very practices they publicly frown upon. Yet the taboos are not readily erased, and the public in general bows to higher authority. At least, in the open. In the privacy of the boudoir, things are different.
Sex has always been a highly personal thing, even in group gatherings, paradoxical as this statement may seem. In the final analysis, the act is reduced to two, three, four, and rarely, five principals. Surely, this fits the description of "personal" closely enough for our analysis. Whatever takes place between these consenting partners in private is purely their business, so long as they do not attempt to dictate their attitudes and acts upon others further removed.
Oral fetishes play a very vital part in our living pattern today. This phase of sexuality may not be the reader's outlet for gratifying sexual release. Chances are quite strong that the majority of us do find a new and exciting sex-life in orality. For a great many, oral fetishes are the only way to fulfill the fierce hungers that cry for expression. Every human being has his or her own peculiar yearning and every human should be given the right not only to discover and understand this drive but to function within the framework of that particular expression.
Oral fetishes serve a positive purpose in many lives. A great percent of the time they serve to restimulate sexual activity and love interest between jaundiced couples whose sexual activities have degenerated to the point of complete indifference. Despite the rising wave of divorces in America, it is still normal human behavior to want to preserve home and family life. If, as evidence clearly points, oral fetishes protect these precious things, then we should take steps to utilize the potent weapons in our possession.
Only when oral love and oral fetishes become physically dangerous to the well-being of the principals do we have to stop to take stock of the situation. Once alerted to the good and bad in any human pattern, we can be on watch for the dangers inherent in the relationships necessary for complete sexual fulfillment.
The libido of an oral fetishist need not be hypersensitive. In many cases, the sex drive may very well be lower than average, nearly dormant in some instances. In these patterns, the matter of oral fetishes is nearly pathologic. By this we mean certain sexual mental states that may have originated in childhood or even infancy. The actual complex pattern cannot be easily defined, nor are our current medical minds completely at ease over the situation. Some maintain that preferred oral-fetish acts border on, the pathologic. Others declare with just as much certainty that orality arising from absolute necessity is entirely acceptable.
To pass judgment in a total, ultimate fashion implies perfection in the judge. To this date, we have yet to meet a perfect human being. There never has been and never will be such a paragon. Only those completely without faults should set themselves up as moral judges of what others do. All else is personal opinion, personal attitude, personal belief, and personal desire. Everyone has a different concept of living and a different attitude about sexual, emotional and spiritual expression.
We still live in a world of half-truths. Our actual experience in living must find itself somewhere between the musty morality of past generations and the "new" attitudes of the "in" group. This middle line is exactly where we, ourselves, place it. In a free society, it is our legal, spiritual, and moral right to decide just where we wish to draw this middle line-so long as this decision does not harm or conflict with the well-being of our fellow beings.
Therefore, in the final analysis, we can point out that oral fetishes are expressions of which every one of us should be cognizant. We must pay attention to oral fetishes as they relate to our more youthful members in society. It behooves all of us to encourage freedom in better living. If oral fetishes can be of aid to this idealistic existence, then we should encourage these actions even if we personally may not agree with the principles involved. Only with this more liberal attitude will we be able to create a more secure form of living to present our forthcoming generations.
