Chapter 13
Walking up the stairs toward her apartment, Gail still felt the sting of Dave's proposition.
As she arrived on the floor where she lived, she saw a familiar face standing pensively before her door.
It was none other than her friend Jimmy, and she wondered just how much more in the way of frustration she could stand.
"What are you doing here?" she asked.
"I'd like some help on my lessons," Jimmy replied. "I know that you might not believe me, but I do need some help. I'm a little weak in chemistry, and it's beginning to bother me."
"I must say that that is the one subject that you appear to have a little trouble with," she said, as she put her key in the door.
"That's why I need the help. As you can see, I've got the books right here in my hand."
"So you do."
"So could we go inside and get a little studying done?"
"I suppose maybe we could," Gail said cautiously. "But one thing has to be understood. From here on out, our relationship is strictly what it was in the beginning, student and teacher. Is that understood, Jimmy?"
"Yeah, yeah, I guess you got that point across now."
"I'm sorry if you're disappointed and all, but that's just the way it will have to be."
"I suppose so."
"I do think of lot of you, Jimmy, and I want to see you get that scholarship. I'd be every bit as proud as you if you got it."
"Just maybe I can."
"I think that there's every chance, provided that you work for it."
"That's why I'm here."
"I'm sorry, Jimmy," she looked at him and smiled. "It's been a tough day. I'm sorry if I've been riding you too hard. As long as you learn your lesson, and as long as I learn mine, that's the important thing."
"Okay, fair enough. Right now, I just want some help on my chemistry."
"Then I think I can help you out. That isn't my number one subject either, but I do know a little bit about it, and I do think that I can help you."
"Yeah, I'm sure you can."
"Then let's get right to work."
He settled down on the sofa, looking alert and pensive as she began the lesson.
The one thing that began bothering Gail at the very outset, was how attracted she remained to Jimmy. The longer that she thought about him, the more frequently she found herself looking into his deep, soulful eyes. She liked Jimmy, in a way that she didn't want to admit to herself.
They conversed for better than an hour as she did everything in her power to help clear up the chemistry material for him.
At the end of the hour, Gail decided it was time for them to take a little break.
"How about me getting you a Coke, Jimmy? I know I could sure use one myself," she said.
"Okay, I guess that would be fine."
She walked into the kitchen and opened two Cokes, pouring the contents into glasses, then walking back into the living room.
"Thank you," Jimmy said, accepting his Coke.
"You're quite welcome."
Jimmy took a long sip from his Coke, then asked:
"How am I doing, Gail?"
"You're learning it. You want to know what your basic problem was."
"What's that?"
"You just couldn't seem to work up an interest in chemistry. It's not that you don't have the aptitude for it, it's that you don't seem that interested in it by nature. You need to instill an interest in it inside yourself."
"I never thought about it that way."
"Well, that's just what your problem is, as I see it," she said thoughtfully. "I think that the more you work with chemistry, the greater the degree of interest and familiarity you will build up in the subject."
"Just maybe you're right," Jimmy said. "I do know this one thing. The longer that I work on one thing, it seems the easier it is for me to get it."
"And I'll bet it seemed like drudgery at first, didn't it?"
"Yeah, sort of."
"That's exactly what I was saying."
"I guess you're right."
"Sure. A subject like that often bugs many young students. Particularly if their desires lay in other directions, like yours do. I mean, you're very good in the social sciences. You have a definite flair for history, and you're very good in English as well. But I can see that you don't enjoy something like this as much."
"No, I guess you're right."
"That means you've got to develop an interest in it. Isn't that right?"
"Yeah, that's true."
"Then what you really need to do is to develop those disciplinary powers of yours. You've got very good discipline, Jimmy, and it's just a question of developing it to the fullest."
"I guess you're right about that."
"Certainly. So that's the big basic problem. But we'll work on it a little more tonight. It's good practice to have someone like me drumming the stuff into you. I think it might be a little easier for it to sink in then."
"It's much easier," the boy replied.
"I'm glad to hear that."
Jimmy took a long sip from his Coke, looking over at his teacher and smiling. It wasn't a sensuous smile, it was one of a student who held his teacher in great admiration.
They finished sipping their Cokes, then decided to resume the studies.
They put in another good solid hour, during the course of which Gail drummed some more chemistry into young Jimmy's brain.
Gail then decided that it was time for them to stop.
"I think that's plenty for tonight, Jimmy." She looked at him and smiled.
"Gee, I really appreciate this. You know, I didn't even have any dinner tonight."
"Come to think of it, neither did I," Gail laughed. "I guess that means we were concentrating so hard we didn't even think of eating."
"I know. I'm not even hungry."
"I think you could use a little bit to eat, though. I know I could!"
"Oh, listen! I didn't say that because I was hinting for a meal."
"No, I recognize that," Gail said. "It's just something I'd like to do for you. Look, I could put some chicken in the oven. Some of the store bought package kind. It's really no trouble at all. It will only take a few minutes. Besides, I can't eat it all myself. I need a little help."
"Are you sure about that?"
"Positive." Gail smiled. "Now how about staying and having a little something to eat with me?"
"Well, since you put it that way."
"Yes, I want you to."
Gail went into the kitchen and fixed dinner quickly, which they enjoyed together.
Gail was coming to the reluctant conclusion that she didn't want Jimmy to leave. There was something about his magnetic presence that made her feel great.
She thought back to Dave Clark and her keen disappointment over his conduct in the bar. But she wanted to be around Jimmy. If she had her way, he'd never leave, even though she realized that that state of events was not possible.
When they finished dinner, and as she looked at Jimmy, she realized how deeply she felt for him.
At that particular moment, his eyes met hers also. They hypnotized one another, after which their heads sank forward.
They wound up uniting their lips in a fervent kiss, one that they allowed to last for several seemingly eternal seconds.
It was Gail who finally broke the kiss. As she did so, she recognized that once more she was in trouble. This handsome young man had made a tremendous impression on her. She certainly couldn't blame Jimmy for the enthusiastic kiss, since she had been the instigator.
It made Gail feel terribly uncomfortable to recognize that essential fact of life-that there was something about Jimmy that appealed to her so strongly that she just couldn't help but react.
"I thought you were fighting your feelings," Jimmy said. "You've been fighting all along, haven't you?"
"Oh yes. I've been so afraid."
"You should never be afraid."
"Maybe you're right."
"Of course I am. We love each other too much."
This time it was Jimmy who served as the aggressor, leaning his head forward and allowing his lips to crush devastatingly against Gail's.
The lips remained fervently locked for several long seconds, after which Jimmy broke the kiss.
"Let's go in the bedroom," Jimmy said, taking hold of her hand and squeezing it gingerly.
"Oh, I don't know. We'd be taking an awful chance, Jimmy."
"But we'd be taking an even greater chance if we didn't."
"What do you mean by that strange statement?" She looked into his eyes.
"I mean, you'd never forgive yourself if you stopped short this time. You want me, it's written all over your face. Come on and admit it."
"Oh, my God, you're much too shrewd to try and put anything over on. You're so right, baby. It's terrible. I want you. I want you bad. But I'm afraid to let myself go."
"Oh, don't ever be afraid," he said. "Let's go into the bedroom."
Jimmy leaned his head forward again and he thrust out his long red tongue.
He allowed that hot red tongue of his to fervently make its way inside her mouth.
Back and forth he let his tongue dart against hers. The longer that he kept it up, the more intense the searing passions became that circulated throughout her entire body.
Gail loved the sensations attached to her saliva meshing with that of hot Jimmy.
The boy continued to intensify the level of those tongue movements, working his tongue ever so briskly inside Gail's mouth. Permitting it to erupt eagerly against her tongue.
Jimmy was hopeful that once he got his teacher to a hot enough level, she would not possess the willpower necessary to say no to him.
Even though she might have been overly cautious about the prospect of having sex with him, Gail would not want to turn him down if it meant making herself feel miserable, he thought.
Their tongues continued to twist and turn. Jimmy interpreted it as a good sign that she was coming around. She was twisting her tongue every bit as fervently as he was maneuvering his.
Now Jimmy released his tongue from her mouth. He had a big smile on his face. He was feeling more confident than ever.
"You like tonguing me, don't you?" he asked.
"Oh, Jimmy, I love it."
"I'm glad you can admit it, then."
"Oh yes! But I still have these terrible fears about it, dear. I have fears about us being discovered."
"Let's throw the fears away, baby. Let's have fun instead. Come on, honey. Let's go into that bedroom. I need you. I need you. I need you now! And I think that you need me too."
"Yes, I do."
"Then let's do something about it."
Gail could feel the intense heat circulating through her passionate body. It was focused between her legs where her vagina was smoldering with passion.
She recognized just how right the young man was as she was getting up from her chair.
"I guess we do have to go into that bedroom," she sighed. "It is a necessity, I guess. There's no way that I can lie to myself now."
"Don't even try."
"No, I won't. That's all in the past."
"Oh good, I'm so glad to hear you say that." They were walking arm in arm into the bedroom.
Gail's body was smoldering more passionately than ever as she thought about the prospect of once more getting into bed with young Jimmy.
