Chapter 4
As Vera walked back onto the school grounds, she saw the ambulance. She saw that it was parked in front of the school building, so that it couldn't be one of the older girls. Just the same, she quickened her pace to see what it was all about.
As she got to the door, she saw Mr. Gallows directing the traffic down the stairs of the building.
"All right, now, we will be inside the ambulance in just a moment, Lucy. Be calm."
Vera saw that new girl, Lucy Granger on a stretcher, but she couldn't understand the look on her face. She looked as though she were about to laugh. This couldn't be a gag, could it?
Another girl from her class had come over in the rain, and Vera walked up to her.
"Hey, Susie, what's going on?"
"I don't really know, but they say that this girl fell off her bed and banged her head on the floor."
"Oh, gee, is that why she looks so strange."
"Strange? In what way."
"Well, she looked as though she were going to laugh."
Susie smiled at Vera. She beckoned her over in a conspiratorial way.
"I understand that Mr. Gallows was doing some work in his second floor class room, and he heard the thump from the fourth floor. He has wonderful hearing, don't you think?"
"Where did they find him?"
"He was in the room when Miss Withers got back with Mrs. Arthur. The old biddies went for his story, but I don't believe it."
"You mean that he's up to something?"
"Up to something? Vera, you have to be blind not to know what he likes to do."
"What does he do?"
"Oh, wow. That's right. You transferred here after you started school. Well, let me tell you."
The ambulance was pulling away, and Mr. Gallows was in the back with Lucy. Miss Withers was to follow later on, should Mr. Gallows feel it necessary. Mrs. Arthur was herding the girls back into the school, getting them into dinner.
Vera and Susie walked back to their dorm to have dinner later on. One of their senior privileges was to have dinner after everyone else. They could have dinner anytime between four-thirty and six.
Since she had walked the distance back to the school grounds in the rain, Vera wanted a chance to change. She and Alex had to leave rather quickly, after their second encounter of the afternoon, and they didn't have time for a shower.
If there was one thing that Vera liked, it was a shower afterwards. She would have one and then go to dinner. The food was never that good anyway. There wasn't much to miss.
As they walked, Susie filled her in on what had been going on with Gallows.
"Oh, he likes the younger girls. He's been at it for as long as I've been here and as long as most of the girls know."
"How do you know?"
"Oh, when the girls get older, he drops them. Juniors are out of his league!"
They shared a laugh, but it had interested Vera, and she asked Susie more questions.
"Do the girls talk afterwards?"
"Well, I knew one of the girls. She graduated in my sophomore year, and you were just coming in. She had been one of his girls and he had stopped seeing her when she became a junior. Isn't that wild?"
"Why did she tell you?"
"Oh, I don't know. Maybe she was annoyed with him. Maybe he's got a really big one and she wanted more of it!"
Vera laughed, but she wondered to herself if anyone knew about Alex. She didn't want to be. the butt of jokes. They had reached the building, however, and they had to stop to take off their boots. It was a regulation for the sake of housekeeping.
"You know, Vera, I don't think that Lucy Granger had an accident. But I do think that she got a bang!"
Susie laughed herself silly, and went on into her room. Vera followed in the same direction, but seniors all had private rooms. That was another of the privileges afforded the ones who made it to the fourth year.
Walking down the rather quiet hallway, Vera thought about Alex and what they had done that afternoon. It was something that they both enjoyed and she did not see it as something cheap and laughable. She wondered if she was just one in a long progression of girls from the school, in Alex's life. That was something that she just hadn't thought about.
Vera tried to shake the feeling of being betrayed, but she couldn't. Of course, she would have to wait until next Saturday to find out. That would kill her all week, wondering.
An awful thought came to her. Susie. She seemed to know everything about everyone. She could ask her about Alex. In an offhanded sort of way. Oh, what difference did it make? He was married, and she knew that. There was obviously no future in this relationship anyway, so what was the difference?
Vera calmed herself while she showered and felt better as she toweled herself dry. She felt fresh and the affair with Alex seemed a bit far off. She was back in school, with some work to do for two subjects, and it was better to do it on a Saturday night than to wait for Sunday.
When Vera got to dinner, however, there was a buzzing around one table, and she was interested to know what they were talking about.
"What is happening?"
"Just heard about it. Not official, but pretty certain. A new girl coming in."
"At this time in the school year? Why?"
"Something about her parents moving away or something like that. Listen, it's not easy reading upside down!"
It was then that Vera realized that the information was "official". That meant that someone had seen it on the desk of the registrar's office, but she wasn't supposed to have seen it. That's why there could be no confirmation.
"Anyway, she's sixteen, so she'll be in the upper classes. But only a junior."
So, two girls in one semester. And out of step' with the regular admissions. The girls had their own views about girls who were admitted during the term. Either they wanted to come badly enough that their parents had bribed the faculty, which was not difficult at all, or they were in some kind of trouble and their parents wanted to get them out of where they were.
Everybody figured this was the case with Lucy Granger, since she didn't look that happy to be there. In fact, she looked downright unhappy by the third week at the school. Vera had nothing to do with her, but she had heard no bad rumors about her, and that was unusual.
Susie Farren was the town crier. She got all the gossip and then made sure it was distributed. She was more interested in this kind of thing than school. She was a senior, but she would be going to a small college, with no future. She just didn't seem to care about school.
Vera felt sorry for this Lucy. Now she would be talked about and made the butt of jokes. That didn't seem a very happy prospect. However, while she was having dinner, the conversation turned to Lucy.
"Hey, isn't that a riot? Gallows got caught in her room and they made up this crazy story. I wonder what happened at the hospital. All I can say is that it had to be Lucy who thought that-one up. Gallows isn't that smart."
The girls laughed and traded more comments about the situation. But Vera was beginning to pick up the tone of the comments. They weren't unfavorable. It was as if Lucy had become part of a sorority. She was no longer without an identity.
Vera had not gone through all the stages in this school. She did not know of, nor appreciate the feelings about behavior or popularity in the school. She was learning what it was right now.
From the talk at the table, some popular success was gained by some scandalous action, such as Lucy had engaged in today. Even though Vera knew of girls who were having affairs with boys, and some of the other teachers, no doubt, still they never talked about it, nor was there any contest that she was aware of.
This was only part of the school that Vera knew nothing of. She was involved in her school work and her relationship with Alex Drysdale. That took about all of the time that she had available.
From the talk around the room, Vera determined that Lucy was still at the hospital. They wanted to check her for head injuries. Her parents had to be contacted, and they were coming up to see her. The girls got hysterical about that bit and melted into laughter.
Lucy was actually a bit upset about all of this. Mr. Gallows had long gone home, with a wink to her, and a bit of pressure on her hand. Lucy was sitting in a hospital bed, in a private room, very quietly, and a bit nervously.
Mrs. Arthur informed Lucy that even though the doctors could find no immediate damage, they wanted to keep her overnight, at least, to determine if there were any latent problems. She was fine, they reassured her, and they had called her parents.
About six o'clock, Lucy's phone rang. It was her mother. She sounded guilt-laden.
"Darling, you are all right, aren't you? They said that you had a slight accident. Is that true?"
"Oh, it's really dumb. I fell out of bed, and well. I got a little sick to my stomach, and they brought me to the hospital. That's it."
Lucy still did not feel too kindly towards her mother. She preferred her father and was tempted to ask for him on the phone. Fortunately, her mother quickly relinquished the phone to Mr. Granger. He sounded worse.
"Honey, please believe that we love you. Maybe we should never have sent you to that place. We'll be up to see you very soon, and well, we'll talk. Okay?"
Lucy thought about that call now. She loved her father more, but she was glad that they both might rethink this whole rotten idea. She had to do what they said, since she was so young. For a little while longer, she would have to comply with what they said. Later on, it would be a different story.
It was not difficult for Lucy to fall asleep that night. She was confused by what had happened, and a bit amused for a while. When the examinations got more serious, the humor went out of it for her, but she dared not tell the truth. Even though the hospital bed was not comfortable, she fell asleep quickly.
The doctor came in about seven in the morning to see her. He was a young man and was very friendly with her.
"How are you feeling this morning?"
"Just fine, really."
He took her pulse and looked into her eyes. Then, he flicked off his small pen light and smiled at her.
"I think it's safe for you to go back to school. But, regulations say that we usually watch such an accident case for twenty-four hours. Why don't you just lounge around for the day."
Lucy didn't want to stay at the hospital, but the doctor was cute and very nice, and she just couldn't give him a hard time. Anyway, what point was there to it? As the doctor was leaving, he turned and waved his finger at her, as if he were trying to remember something.
"Oh, yes. There was a call from your parents. They seem like very nice people. They will be down today."
Lucy had mixed feelings about their coming to see her. In one part of her, she wanted to run to them, cling to her father and ask him to take her home. However, the other part said that they had not wanted her and had sent her away. She would not come home just because she was in the Hospital and had an upper hand, they wanted her. They felt bad. Well, good for them. They deserved it.
Then, too, there was this new feeling and possibility with Mr. Gallows. She had never experienced anything like him before. That first time with Timmy was really great, but it couldn't compare to Ed Gallows. Oh, the things that he had done to her. There would probably have been lots more if they hadn't fallen off the bed.
About noontime, just after the meager lunch that Lucy had been served, she heard a racket at the door of her room. There were some voices and then, the door opened. Lucy anticipated seeing her parents, but instead, Roseann appeared.
"Hey, how are you? They told me about your accident and since I convinced them that I was a good friend, they let me come and see you."
"What are you doing here? Who told you? My parents?"
"Hell, no. They wouldn't even talk to me. The school. Mrs. Arthur."
"Why were you talking to Mrs. Arthur?"
"I just got here this morning. That's when I found out about you."
Lucy still was not grasping the meaning of Roseann's words. She could not imagine why Roseann had come to the school this morning.
"Why didn't you ever write lately? I figured that you didn't care anymore."
"Oh, don't be a slimoe. I had a little trouble convincing my folks about this place, but when I rode out to see it once, I figured that it wasn't so bad. I saw some of the teachers here."
"You mean that you wanted to go to the school?"
"Sure. But, you know what it's like. They had to send for some test scores or something, and it took a while. I finally convinced my parents to tell them that they were going away to the Orient and they would not take me with them, for my own safety."
Lucy was laughing again, and she liked the sound of her own laughter. She had not laughed this way since she had left her home and Roseann. There was no reason to laugh here at school. Not yet, anyway. Roseann always managed something.
"So, then, they finally agreed. The school, I mean. They said that they don't make it a habit of taking in students in mid-term. I guess that the story was pretty good, or else, the money that my father gave them worked. Something did."
The truth of the matter was beginning to dawn on Lucy. She held her arms out to Roseann. They embraced in friendship and Roseann sat on the bed.
"Are you all right? No broken head?"
"No, I'm fine, and when we have some time and some privacy, I'll tell you the whole story."
Lucy gave Roseann an exaggerated wink, and Roseann gave the "Okay" sign. Suddenly, this was a new world for Lucy. Her friend had kept her word, after all, and they were together again. The world would not be as bleak anymore.
They talked for a while, and Roseann got down to specifics.
"How are the prospects? Make any contacts yet?"
"Well, that's part of yesterday's story. It's kind of complicated, but not that bad. You see, there was this man, you'll meet him in school, I guess.. . "
Just then, the door opened and it was the nurse.
"Lucy, you're parents are here. They wanted to know if you were awake before they came in. I'll tell them to come on in."
"Oh, no! Uh, nurse, uh, please! Would you tell them to wait for a moment?"
The nurse looked at Lucy with a puzzled look. But, Roseann was right there with the right words.
"My friend hasn't seen her parents for some time, and she wants to fix her hair. If she looks pretty, they might want to take her home again. Very sad."
Roseann said it with a straight face, and the nurse looked astounded, but convinced.
"Sure, I'll tell them you're busy. Take your time."
Lucy was snickering as the nurse closed the door, but she immediately became sober.
"If my parents see you here, and find out that you go to this school, they'll die. They'll take me home, for sure. They'll figure that it is one way to keep us apart. That's the reason they sent me here in the first place."
Roseann agreed with Lucy, but as she was about to go to the door, they heard voices. Lucy gestured towards the bathroom, and Roseann only just closed the door as Lucy's parents walked in.
Mrs. Granger was a bit strained, but George Granger went right up to his girl and embraced her.
"Hi, honey. How are you feeling?"
"Oh, just fine, Daddy. I should be going back to school today."
"I know, we spoke to the doctor. You're fine, thank goodness."
Amanda Granger came closer to the bed, but she could not bring herself directly into the conversation. Something was holding her back.
Lucy decided to be the first to communicate.
"Hello, mother. You look very nice today."
"Thank you, dear. I'm glad that you're better."
"Is something wrong, Mom?"
"No, nothing. It's just that we spoke with the doctors and they said that the fall was relatively insignificant. Was it necessary to come to the hospital?"
The fire started in George Granger's eyes, as he comprehended the meaning in his wife's statement. He glared at her, and spoke very quietly.
"I don't want to hear about anything like that. That is low and unworthy of you, Amanda."
"Now, George, don't you think that your daughter is capable of pulling a stunt like this one? I do."
Lucy was stunned by the words her mother was saying. She was beginning to understand what she was trying to say, and she was angered by it.
"Mother, if you think that I faked this thing to get you here, you're wrong. Why would I do that?"
"To make us feel terrible. To make us take you home. You are not happy here. You don't see that wonderful friend that you had. You hurt your father and me very much."
"Amanda, if you say one more word, just one more syllable in front of this child, I will do something that I have never done before. I am very angry with you right now."
Lucy could see her mother start to get upset, with the tears welling in her eyes. She had lost and Lucy had won a victory of sorts. Just then, however, Amanda Granger wanted to get out of the room, and she looked around for the bathroom. She headed for the blank wooden door, and Lucy felt her heart go cold.
"Uh, it's not working. It is flooded."
Her mother stopped for an instant, but she looked as though she didn't believe her. She had her hand on the door handle, and Lucy was desperate to stop her.
"Really, Mom, I don't want to be gross, but there's everything on the floor. The John backed up and everything. I mean you know, shit, too."
The disgust was clear on her mother's face qs she turned and walked out of the room. Lucy sighed silently and turned back to her father. However, he was making a move towards the bathroom.
"Uh, Daddy, really, it's not working."
"I'm just shocked that a hospital like this would allow something like this to go on. I will talk to the nurse about it."
"Oh, please don't. They're doing all they can about it. The plumber is coming. I can walk, anyway, and I will be going back to school very soon."
The word "school" caught her father's attention, and steered him back to Lucy, away from the bathroom. He sat on the side of the bed and took Lucy's hand in his.
"Seriously, how are things going?"
"Oh, it's okay. Just like I said before, I think it was a good idea."
"I never believed you when you said that. I still don't."
"Oh, Daddy, please, believe me. It was a little rough in the beginning, but it's okay now."
"Look, I can handle your mother. I want you to be happy, too."
"But, really, I am, Daddy. I'm getting to know some people here, and they're not that bad."
"You don't seem wild anymore. Maybe this was enough to clear things up."
Lucy felt her anger rising, even against her father. She had been accused and condemned without a trial. Well, she wasn't "wild." Not yet, that is.
"Really, I am very pleased with everything the way it is. Vacation is soon enough, anyway."
"Well, maybe you're smarter than I am, sugar. We'll have time to work this out then."
"Yeah, sure, Daddy. Thanks for coming all this way. I feel just great. Seeing you was great, too."
"Please, don't think that your mother doesn't love you. She does. She just has some problems that she can't get around."
Lucy didn't want to think about her mother. She wanted to get back to Roseann and to this world, without her parents. To hell with her mother for now. She was not coming home to her.
"Sure, Dad. I know. Tell her thanks for coming, will you?"
"You're a great kid, Lucy. See you soon."
Lucy kissed her father and watched him walk out of the room. She had to wait until it was all clear before going to Roseann. If they even suspected that she was at the school, they would whisk her home. Away from Evil Roseann.
When Lucy opened the door, she did not see Roseann. She was puzzled until she looked behind the shower curtain. They laughed together about the ugly description Lucy had used to keep her mother away from the bathroom.
"Come on. I am going to get dressed, and check out of here. Isn't someone coming from the school to pick me up?"
"Yes, it's Mrs. Arthur. She said that she would give me a lift back with you."
"We have to find some time to talk and get together. You're probably in the new building. I live in the old one. Damn. We won't be together."
On the way back to the school, Lucy asked Mrs. Arthur if it was all right for Roseann to come up to her room. Just for a little while, to talk a bit. Mrs. Arthur agreed, saying that the school was satisfied that she was fine.
Once they were alone, Lucy unraveled the truth about her "accident."
"I was so scared when I heard them coming that I didn't know what to do. This was the best thing that I could think of."
"Why did you go to the hospital?"
"Well, I realized that there were these, well, the wetness on the bed, and all over me, too, and I couldn't let Miss Withers see that. I didn't want to get expelled."
"What did you say?"
"Nothing. I just slumped over and told her that I was a little sick. She figured that it was a head injury and that's how I got to the hospital. I felt so damn stupid."
Roseann sat back and they laughed over the way that Lucy had covered her tracks. Lucy went into the details of how horny she had gotten, and the play that Mr. Gallows had made for her. She said that it was great.
Strangely enough, now that Lucy had experienced some sexual activity, she was no longer too shy to talk about her feelings. She was very free with the details and her reactions to what had happened. It was easy to see that Roseann appreciated the change.
"Wow. You've opened up a lot since you got rid of that cherry. You have really started to grow up."
Lucy was very proud to have a compliment like that tossed at her from Roseann. She still respected her a great deal and was happy to be respected by her in return.
Then it was time for Roseann to go to her room to get settled. Mrs. Arthur had prepared some sort of orientation for her, and it would take most of the afternoon that was left.
Just before Roseann left, she pulled something from her blouse and tossed it to Lucy. Lucy took the compact package and looked up at Roseann.
"What is this?"
"It is only the best pack of French cards that I ever saw. Take a look."
"Oh, Roseann, what am I going to do with them?"
"Look at them, silly. But, be careful. They cost a lot and like I said, they are the best ones I've seen in a long time."
After Roseann had closed the door, Lucy took the rubber band off the plain paper wrapper. She was aware of what Roseann called French pictures, but she had never seen anything that Roseann liked this much.
As she flipped the first picture over, Lucy was shocked. A woman with her legs spread wide. Someone else was holding her pussy open, and everything was visible. Lucy turned to the next and her heart started to pound.
It was a picture of a man about to thrust his phallus into a pert asshole. The ass cheeks were spread wide and the tip of the cock was gleaming with something on it.
Lucy kept turning the pictures over, one at a time. She could feel her breath get a big gulp and she began to breath faster to get enough air. Then it happened again. Her panties got wet. The itch began. The one that said she was ready for a good fuck.
Lucy knew that she should pull herself away from the French deck, but she was fascinated by what might come next. However, when she pulled the picture that was next over, she literally gasped.
In the photograph, there was a woman straddling a man. This was a shot from the back, so that it was easy to see his cock sticking into her vagina. It was a big, thick, cock, and the balls were huge.
However, the most exciting part of the picture was the fact that there was another man in the picture. He was shoving his dick into the woman's asshole, and the glossy photo showed the glistening cream on it.
The next photo showed the man further inserted into the ass, and the woman up on the first cock. And, then, the next showed both men inside the woman very deeply. The final one, however, was the piece de resistance. It pictured both men coming on her ass, the white cream smeared all over the woman's buttocks.
Lucy could not get the picture out of her mind. She had never thought about group sex before. Getting one boy near her was fast enough without wondering or worry about a whole lot of them.
Lucy flipped through the rest of the pictures, but they were mild to her, as far as she was concerned. She went back to the small set of pictures and flipped through them over and over again.
Lucy lay on her bed, trying to imagine what it might feel like with a man stuck way up her backside. The thought was so exciting that she dropped her hand to her crotch and rubbed, unconsciously.
She thought about sitting on a man that way, and having someone fool with the forbidden place between her cheeks. She had never thought about it as far as sex was concerned, but now that she had seen the act, it made sense to her.
Her hand stole under her panties and she found her clitoris. Lucy put the pictures in front of her, spread out on the bed, and looked at them while she masturbated. She imagined that she would feel the thick cock pressing into her and she rubbed faster and harder on her body.
Lucy closed her eyes now, being able to sustain the feeling without looking at the pictures. She saw the action in her mind, and she was the woman in the middle. There was this handsome guy with a huge prick, shoving at her from behind while she sat on this other man. The two cocks were inside her then, and-she could feel the fantastic sensations.
Her hands worked faster still, as the fantasy grew, and the cocks exploded in Lucy. They exploded the way that Timmy's and Mr. Callow's had in her. She felt the force of the ejaculation and rocked violently as the real feelings of her orgasm rocketed through her.
Helpless in her orgasm, Lucy rolled on top of the pictures and frigged herself without pause until the last of the goodness was done. She languished in the feeling she had just experienced and thrust her finger into her vagina, just for good measure. She remembered what it was like when Ed Gallows was in there yesterday, and she wanted it again.
Lucy broke out of the mood now, and packed the pictures up carefully. She liked them, too, and would want to look at them again. She was impressed by Roseann's taste in pornography and resolved to find out where one got such things. She never saw such pictures in the stores.
Later that night, as Lucy was getting ready for bed, she reflected on how her life had changed in the past twenty-four hours. Instead of wanting to beg her parents to take her home, she had told them to go home without her, she was looking forward to a new and exciting life with Roseann at the school.
It was difficult to distinguish between the happiest or most influential of the feelings running through Lucy. She was thrilled at having her friend back. Now life would be more exciting and really lots of fun.
More than that, however, was the fact that Roseann had kept her word. She had not forgotten Lucy. That loomed large in Lucy's thoughts as she snuggled down into the slim bed. She could smile and be happy. Her friend had not forgotten her after all.
Lucy could have no idea what would happen in the next few weeks, but she was certain about one thing. Everything would be better now thai she was with Roseann again.
She put the French cards back in their wrapper, put the rubber band on them and hid them in the back Of her underwear draw. God, she thought to herself, if I can't even find a pan of underpants in there, no one will find the cards.
