Conclusion
Here's an example of a young white boy who falls into the clutches of a black prostitute. His innocence makes him an unwitting prey to her hidden violence. Because she has herself been victimized, she inflicts on him all her own anger. He has the problem now of expecting violence, before he can feel sexually aroused. Deep therapy will recondition him.
GENERAL CONCLUSION
These cases reveal something about the world that we live in. That under the seeming civilized surface lurks much violent, aberrant behavior. People are human, and human beings are capable of the most brutal and malevolent sort of behavior to their own kind. Especially, to younger children, easier victims of their brutality. The young, vulnerable girls and boys, can be damaged in terrifying ways, in ways that may cause them, in turn, to do violence on others, when they grow up. There is, in the world of man, a cycle of sexual violence that seems never to run out.
Our job here is to reveal how vivid and dramatic these cases betray the sickness that hides under the most ordinary faces. That the world is not a nice place at all.
And that after the damage to children has been done, it takes long, careful therapy to restore confidence, to restore trust. To make possible normal sexual and human relationships between people.
These cases of man's inhumanity to women, reveal how much educative work must be done in the world of today.
It sometimes seems to me that there is deeper barbarism and primeval viciousness surfacing in this century than has flourished since the time of the Spanish Inquisition, and its brutal methods and examples of man in the name of love, beauty and purity sinking to the lowest level of depravity. The facade is one of such hypocrisy that it is a mystery to decent men everywhere how such things can take hold and flourish among men in a so called civilized society.
Even the most primitive society of man has no such viciousness that we have witnessed in the torture chambers of modern governments.
So it is not hard really to understand that it should finally filter down to the ground level and affect the very lives of the everyday man and woman, in their relationship to one another.
