Introduction

The young teenager had worked herself into a frenzy of arousal at this point and was quite visibly excited at the memory of the incestuous act. She was perspiring freely and her voice had become nervous and stammering. There was little for me to do but postpone the rest of the interview until she was in a more relaxed state. I was forced to end the session temporarily, and did not resume it until after lunch.
The remainder of Debbie's statement is included in the complete account of her case history, which is presented in Chapter Four of this book. But it is at this time important that her story be examined within the context of a much larger body of knowledge-that which includes other examples of incestuous oralism among young girls.
Let me state from the outset that Debbie's case is by no means unique. The truth is that a surprising number of today's teenagers share her sexual perversion. I am speaking specifically of the numerous oral sex acts practiced by a young girl with her own father ... or mother! These young females exhibit a strong desire for incestual relations with a parent or parents, but their need can only be satisifed by oral acts. The "routine" genital-to-genital contact which characterizes most incestuous acts is not sufficient to gratify the precocious demands of these girls. The "oral daughters," if you will, are not happy until they have achieved mouth/-to-genital contact. Sometimes the girl craves the oral caress of her parent upon her own young organs and other times she even desires to place her mouth on the parent's genitals-but in every case history presented here the predominant focus is on daughters who perform oral sex acts.
The five detailed case histories which follow were selected from the numerous examples of "oral daughters" which came to light during my investigation. Most were based on data gathered by cooperating psychologists, social workers, medical doctors and youth parole officers. In one case it was even possible for me to interview the subject directly (an excerpt of which appears at the beginning of this Introduction). The names of all participants, of course, have been changed to protect their right to privacy. It is not the individual with which we are concerned here, but the social significance of the acts of sexual perversion which are performed by them.
With reference to the incest aspect of the material which follows, let us consult the authorities. Kinsey, in his Sexual Behavior in the Human Female, states, " ... 5 per cent of those who had been involved report nine or more experiences during pre-adolescence. Repetition had most frequently occurred when the children were having their contacts with relatives who lived in the same household." Although all the subjects of the case histories in this book are in the 13-17 age range, and could not be classified as children, Kinsey's findings make it clear that incestuous contacts may often have a long history within a given family. With reference to the specific act of fellatio, Kinsey states, "In the younger generations in that portion of the sample which had not had pre-marital intercourse, only 2 per cent had attempted to stimulate the male genital orally ... the incidence was lower for the group which was born before 1910." Is there any doubt that a study of today's teenagers would reveal that the trend towards more and more active participation in oral sex has continued to increase?
In The Yankowski Report on Premarital Sex, by John S. Yankowski, he writes, "Some 71 per cent of all eligible male respondents and some 61 per cent of all eligible female respondents experimented sexually at one time or another with a sibling of the opposite gender; some 62 per cent of all eligible male respondents and some 59 per cent of all female respondents experimented at one time or another with a sibling of the same gender." We shall see from the case histories in this book that sexual contacts with siblings sometimes preceded such contacts with parents. And these contacts often include fellatio and cunnilingus.
From a social point of view, of course, such acts as we have been discussing are illegal. In Samuel G. Kling's instructive book, Sexual Behavior and the Law, he states, "Our laws against incest are hopelessly contradictory. For example, most American states regard the marriage of even first cousins as illegal, while a distinct minority view them as legal. In Rhode Island first cousin marriages are illegal, but are allowed among Jews." But the incestuous acts with which we are concerned here are those acts outside the bonds of marriage and legality. Of fellatio and cunnilingus, the author states that " ... both are punishable under statutes against sodomy, usually with severe sentences." And it goes without saying that a mouth-genital act between a daughter and her parent is considered a much more heinous crime, and that the punishment is meted out accordingly.
The moral considerations of incest-even when it involves mouth-genital contacts between a young girl and a parent-are somewhat more complex than are the legalities of the practice, however. In Dr. Lars Ullerstam's The Erotic Minorities, the Swedish physician points out, "The incest taboo is one of the most universal human restrictions on sexual activity, and practically all primitive peoples have some sort of taboo concerning sexual intercourse among relatives." Later, in a discussion of Kin-berg's Swedish sex study, Dr. Ullerstam states with accuracy, "The survey does not give any indication to what extent incest affects family relationships in a destructive way. ... Kinberg describes lovely idylls, with the mother serving morning coffee while the father and daughter, still in bed, indulge in masturbation." It would not seem too far-fetched to assume that such a sexually liberal family would likewise indulge in mouth-genital contacts as well as simple masturbation. One case history in this book, in fact, concerns participants of that precise relationship-the daughter plus her father and mother.
One's personal appraisal of the subject, as with any other, depends of course entirely on his or her background, experiences, personality and moral precepts. The attempt made in this book is not to pry into the lives of other persons-their identities have been protected-it is to inform, to instruct, to provide a basis upon which one may form his or her own opinion.
As in previous books of case histories involving different practices, such as First-Time Sex, Deviate '69, The Voyeurs, Teen Bestiality and Teenage Sex Slaves Around the World, my aim here is to promulgate useful information. There is no pretense that the facts involved are always "pretty" or even that they are not at times downright "lewd." But such is life. The approach of this study is essential reportorial, and the facts must be presented whether they are pleasant or not. It is only in this way that we can learn the truth about what exists in our society. Then, armed with the facts, we may act to change our society so that every individual may benefit in equal measure. Let us hope that the case histories presented here will impel us towards those ends.
