Epilogue

The lagoon was still and quiet, the water seemingly standing frozen with tiny silvery tips spaced evenly apart. Gail stood on the forward deck of the boat, looking out across the water to the now deserted beach.

It was exactly the way they had first seen it, and that time seemed so very distant in the past. It was odd, she thought, but it looked at though nothing had happened there at all.

"Isn't it beautiful, darling?" she said as Jack slipped his arms around her waist, pulling her backside against his young muscular body.

"Like the day we arrived," he replied."

"Yes," she said, "I was just thinking exactly that."

"Well, honey," he said softly, tenderly, "I think we must go," and he turned his young, girlish wife around in his arms so that she faced him, and then slowly, surely, with pride in his face, he kissed her full on the lips. He held her in the kiss for a long moment, savoring the newly awakened sensuality of his beautiful young wife. But then he had to stop himself, knowing that time was running out. He broke away from the wet lingering kiss and he smiled at her. "Wanna cast off the port lines, mate?"

"Aye, aye, sir!"

He walked into the cabin and started up the engine of the slow moving craft, and when he was satisfied that all was in working order, he called to Gail. "Okay, baby, let her rip!"

"She's adrift, Captain!" came the reply, and Jack pushed the throttle on full. The lumbering hulk of a boat slowly got under way, and she steered it back toward the channel leading to the main river.

Gail remained outside on the forward deck, her mind rapidly scanning over the events of the past weeks. The fantastic spot near the river they thought they had discovered had become the beginning of a total change in their lives. They were going home now, but home wasn't going to be the same anymore. They wouldn't even be talking to each other the same way.

It was a big change that had happened to both of them. They knew more about their bodies, about the desires which could well up inside one, the passions which one way or another took their course and had their wayno matter how much resistance a person offered.

She thought to herself: how was I ever so foolish to try and resist such wonderful things anyhow!?

Gail and Jack were going to have quite a sex life, she knew, just from thinking about what had happened so far. She could hardly wait until the little boat was out on the main river where it could be put onto automatic pilot. She had some "manual" work that she wanted to get right to... For after all, it had been a while since she'd spent some time alone with her husband. What with meeting all those new couples and getting to know everyone, it was just a must that she try out some of those fine and wonderful techniques alone with him, just to make sure she hadn't been dreaming all week long!

The boat was nearly into the narrow channel that led out of the cul-de-sac, and Gail took one more look around before going inside to join her husband. She was going to miss this place, she thought unhappily, and she sniffed back the tears slowly welling up in her eyes, and as she entered the cabin and let her eyes feast on her young husband's fine, virile body, she thought, Yes, I'll miss this lagoon... but I shall never, never forget it...
