Foreword
In our modern world overloaded with sham, deceit and shallowness, people seeking genuine understanding inappropriately turn outward to near-strangers to express their innermost urges, exposing their private thoughts to people little concerned beyond their own lives and therefore only dimly able to deal with problems outside themselves, or they turn inward, suspicious of anyone coming too close, in their misguided efforts to conceal and safeguard their vulnerable selves. In a world of such opposite alternatives, the ideal would be to share those private urges and intimate thoughts with one's own family members. But when those urges are found to be sexual, what in other circumstances would be naturally accepted, even welcomed, becomes labeled as forbidden.
Historically speaking, however, incest is not unknown in most cultures and in many time periods. Even the most widely acclaimed families in the civilized world, including the royal houses of Europe, are not untouched. It should not be surprising, then, for Gloria Linden, member in full standing of America's middle class, to discover this same urge in herself, nor should it be shocking for the rest of her family to so willingly participate. THE FAMILY'S WILD URGE is the documentation of what is more frequent than our frightened society is prepared to face. Thus it becomes a novel demanding the attention of all thinking people.
