Introduction

Human beings in our modern technical society struggle with their problems of sexuality in many different ways. Often, they attempt to solve in total isolation a problem or difficulty which is, in fact, part and parcel of their relationships to other human beings around them. Such efforts are, needless to say, foredoomed to failure. Sometimes, however, there are situations when outside influences are injected into a person's private life so forcefully and unavoidably that the changes and alterations have been accomplished before any effective resistance is possible. Often, although the type and mode of interference is generally unwelcome, and sometimes even frightening or detrimental at the time, its long-range effects are seen as working to the benefit of all concerned.

This is a story of one such unusual episode, a tale of ordinary every-day human beings forced by the circumstances of their daily lives to confront their problems head-on and to cope with them in sometimes unorthodox fashions. It is in part a violent story, one of human subjugation and humiliation. But at the same time, it is also a story of learning and growing, above all, a story of hope.

Join us now as we share the sometimes terrifying experiences of Blake and Evelyn Green and their children, a normal American family of four about to confront a side of life which most of us will never know. You, the reader, are the final judge and jury to decide whether they emerge from their trials better or worse for the experience.
