Chapter 7

Not that everything had gone smoothly those two weeks for Jo Ann once she had convinced her cousin to take her out. The course of true love never runs smooth, and she was quick to discover it was even more true in her own case. After all, Jo Ann was just a teenager, not quite in her middle teens in fact. Considering her age, she had done an exceptional job of gaining a certain amount of control over a man nearly ten years older than herself.

Andrew, she had recalled, was extremely jealous of her, but had tried to make her understand than whereas her cunt belonged solely to him, either to use or give away as he wished, his cock was still his to use any way he so desired. But, as usual, it wasn't totally Andrew's fault. After all, Andrew was so easily controlled.

No, the fault lay with a black-haired girl named Liz. Liz was a mulatto, and she had been trying to climb "higher" on the racial ladder by convincing a white man to marry her. Her methods of convincing were quite good, and at one point she and Andrew had been an item.

Jo Ann had grown up in an upper-class neighborhood that had been racially integrated as long as she had been able to remember. She had played with the kids on the block, never once thinking in terms of white being better than black or mulatto being better or worse than either black or white. If there was any kind of segregation at all in Jo Ann's neighborhood it was financial segregation. The black people were as wealthy as the white, which meant they were wealthier than the majority of other people in the surrounding area, black or white.

Had Jo Ann been a clever woman, there was every possibility her cleverness might have lost her Andrew. The one thing that had finally convinced him that she was more sensuous and arousing than Liz had nothing to do with intelligence, wiliness, cleverness, or sexual radiance. It was her pure innocence. It was this innocence that had kept Jo Ann from practicing any kind of female trickery on Andrew. Her straightforward honesty was the one thing he had needed most, because Andrew, though outwardly trying to appear strong, would always need someone on whom to lean. For all her youth, he had discovered that leaning on Jo Ann was far easier than trying to do so with any other female. He had always had to keep his guard up with other women, Liz included. Only with Jo Ann was he totally himself, and then not all the time. He had revealed himself slowly to her, by degrees, not intending to do so, yet discovering how easy it had been to depend on her rather than anyone else in spite of the cruel ways he had initially treated her.

It was Wednesday, and Jo Ann and Andrew were out walking near the little park not far from the house. Andrew was still unsure of Jo Ann, and he stayed by her at all times when they were outside. He was unaware that he was all but a total victim of hers. In fact, Jo Ann, being somewhat naive, knew she had some control over Andrew, but still wasn't certain to what extent.

He had bought her an entire new wardrobe. At the moment she had on a white sleeveless summer dress with red flower prints all over it, and he was wearing a simple white, short-sleeved shirt, and blue slacks. They had gone to the city on Monday, where he had made all the purchases, and they had eaten in a restaurant and had gone to see what Jo Ann had referred to as a grown-up show.

That night, when they had come back, Jo Ann had been more fantastic in bed than ever, and Andrew had assumed she was showing her gratitude for his having taken her out. Tuesday, he had taken her on a picnic, and because the picnic grounds had so few people around, they had found a spot that was isolated, and he had screwed her in the ass again over there, enjoying it all the more because of the recklessness of it, totally unaware how powerful were her orgasms.

Now it was Wednesday, and the park they were in overlooked a bay, and the two of them were silent, content to be with one another, enjoying the mere fact of a bright summer day and the fact that people walked by them and looked at them, thinking they were either father and daughter or brother and sister. Jo Ann had wanted to put on makeup to look older, but Andrew claimed it would look like she was some kind of tramp out looking to find a man willing to pay for what she was giving to him.

"Well, well, well," a female voice said, making them turn away from the rail overlooking the bay.

The woman was at least six or seven years older than Jo Ann, and from the look of her, she knew her way around men. She had black, wavy hair, a golden tan skin with deep hazel eyes. Her eyebrows had been plucked and then penciled in, and she had a nose that was slightly broad. Her lips were not quite as full as a full-blooded black woman, but neither were they as thin as those of a Caucasian. She was wearing a simple red dress that came down to her knees. It clung tightly to her figure, accenting the fact that she had full-grown, swollen breasts, a very narrow waist, and broad hips with a rear-end that stuck out just a little too far.

"Liz," Andrew said, not smiling.

"Is that all you have to say to a woman to whom you were once almost engaged?" Liz asked. "Why not introduce me. Who's the little girl?"

"Liz Simmons, this is my cousin, Jo Ann Warner. Jo Ann is staying at our home for the summer while her parents are in Europe," Andrew said.

"Thank heavens," Liz smiled. "For a minute I thought you might be some pervert who's robbing the cradle."

Andrew instantly blushed, and Jo Ann should have reddened, but there was something about the golden-skinned woman that she didn't like. She soon learned what it was, when Liz proceeded to tell Andrew and herself all about the different men she had been "dating" since she and Andrew had broken up. Though Jo Ann was still fairly naive, she understood that "dating" meant fucking. But what disturbed her the most was Liz's constant use of the word honkies when referring to Andrew as well as her dates.

"But none of them compare to you, Andrew," Liz finished. "I still can't figure out why you and I broke up."

"You didn't like the idea of being used as a sex object," he reminded her. "I seemed to want too much from you."

"For one man, you surely did," Liz nodded. "But since then, I've known men who just can't hold the proverbial candle to you Andrew, and I was hoping we might get back together again."

"Sorry," Andrew shrugged. "I have me another girl."

"She can't be better'n I was in bed," Liz insisted.

"She's not as practiced," Andrew admitted, "but she's better."

"Someday I'll have to meet her," Liz laughed. "But you know, we shouldn't be talking about such things in front of a young girl like your cousin."

"I'm more grown-up than you think," Jo Ann insisted.

"Sure honey, sure," Liz snorted. "Next you'll be tellin' us about all the fun you had in the back seat of some car, right?"

"Knock it off," Andrew insisted, knowing if this went much further, Jo Ann would reveal the truth.

"Hey, now sugar," Liz smiled, "I'd sure like to come visit you, say tonight, and show you just how much better I am than any li'l ol' gal you're going with right now."

"Out of the question," Andrew insisted. "After all, Jo Ann is staying in the house."

"Heck, she'll get an education," Liz laughed.

"I'll bet there isn't a damn thing you could teach me," Jo Ann snapped angrily.

"Well, well, well, the little gal is getting all her up," Liz laughed. "Come on, Andrew, let's see if there isn't something I can't teach your cousin."

"No!" Andrew insisted, but Jo Ann got the funny feeling that he was all set to propose that he and Liz might meet somewhere else, leaving her alone in the house. Well that idea stank.

Aloud, she said, "Gee, Cousin Andrew, I'll stay in my room if you want. I think it might be a good idea if you did bring Liz home tonight."

In her own girlish way she figured that if some woman was going to take Andrew away from her, it wouldn't be without her witnessing why. She smiled so innocently, not even Andrew suspected that she wanted him to do something with Liz if only to make comparisons. After all, if Liz interested him sexually more than she did, it was better to find out about it now.

"Well, all right," Andrew finally nodded.
