Foreword
Because we are essentially powerless, in an existential sense, to affect the course of our lives, and because we often find ourselves trapped in isolated corners of civilization without any means of stimulation, intellectual and otherwise, we turn to our relationships as an arena to bring about effects. We need to see that we make some impact on our world, however large or small, else we die of paralysis. The result is that many people seek relationships for the primary purpose of exerting power and of directing the course of others' lives.
The frustration of accepting the mediocre and of the debilitating narrowness of life in a small town, merely a spot on the highway, is even greater for individuals who have dynamic personalities and strong wills. THE DESIRE IN DEBBIE accounts the story of an intensely vibrant man and wife team who turn their outwardly quiet town into a seething maelstrom of sex in an attempt to fill the gaps in all of their deprived lives.
That they find so many willing subjects attests to the serious need for excitement and variety in our humdrum world.
