Foreword

The process of growing up and passing through adolescence has been characterized by great inner turmoil, uncertainty, and tremendous pressures from family, close friends, and peer groups. Certainly, in our complex society, the problems youths now face seem more marked than ever before.

Teresa and Janey are teenagers embarking on their own special journey into adolescence. They find themselves plagued with powerful emotions, sometimes becoming angered over youthful misjudgments. It is only through a series of rather explicit encounters while on a vacation that they manage to put their worlds into perspective and can begin coping with new feelings and responding to new situations.

HOT PANTS NIECE -- the story of typical young American girls coming of age. A lesson to us all and a reminder that the journey to adulthood is not easy.
