Introduction
Without giving away any of the plot, we can say that Fran certainly undergoes many new experiences, experiences that few women could possibly be prepared for by any kind of previous life. She learns a great deal-lessons that should be helpful to the reader even as they are to our heroine. And while she may seem to suffer more defeats than triumphs, by the end of the book she has also discovered new reasons for living. Her story, like Faye's, is frequently a sad one, but in the end we believe it is also an inspirational one-and one that could give every reader new reasons for living.
