Foreword
Despite the so-called Sexual Revolution and the thousands of books, magazines and films which have flooded the market for a decade now, there are still a great many people who view sexuality as if it were something disgusting, something to be suppressed, something to be avoided at all costs. Such a person is Lainie Harper, the protagonist of this hard-hitting novel.
To Lainie Harper, sexual relations with her husband, Carl, were something to be endured and to be gotten out of the way - dutifully - as quickly as possible. At any rate, such was her attitude until Carl suddenly got himself locked up in jail, leaving Lainie alone, penniless and unprotected.
Being alone, penniless and unprotected, Lainie found herself besieged by a host of virile men who were only too eager to keep her company, remedy her poverty to some extent, and to protect her - all for a price, of course. The price being the use of her voluptuous young body. A price which Lainie was unwilling to pay ... but, in her defenseless state, she was unable to avoid paying that price.
And her healthy young body responded in a healthy, normal manner - regardless of what her conscience and restrictive background told her. Through one agonizing crisis after another, Lainie is hurtled into situations which horrified her conscience - and delighted her physical self. It is only after a series of traumatic experiences that Lainie is finally able to come to grips with her sexual desires, to accept them and, with growing maturity, to satisfy them in a normal and healthy manner.
We, the publishers, are proud to present this timely novel of one of the complex facets of modern society, and we are sure that the mature adult reader will welcome this addition to the growing library of works illuminating our contemporary mores.
