Chapter 7
The TV commercial was shot with professional dispatch, and long before noon, the entire crew was on its way back to the city. When they reached mid-town, where everyone disembarked, Dick Buller said to her, "I look forward to working with you again, Melanie. You'll be hearing from me again, in the very near future."
Melanie went to her apartment where she changed her clothes and relaxed, and then she called Marty Charles's office. Marty was out, but the secretary or whoever handled the answering service told her Ivor Goodson had called and he wanted to see her in his studios the following Monday.
The weekend was coming up, and Melanie decided that unless Marty Charles called her, she was not going to actively seek work from him for the balance of the week. After what she had been through with Dick Buller, she needed a nice, long rest.
She had two dates that weekend, one with each of two of the male models who had played ghosts in the commercial she had shot at the mansion. It was obvious both knew what Dick Buller had done to her, and it was equally obvious that each of them, because he was such a pretty boy, thought she would be swept off her feet and would be willing to repeat the scene. She quickly let them know that since neither of them was able to do her any good financially, she had no intention of letting them have her body, no matter how attractive they were. This in spite of the fact that her body was craving more sexual satisfaction. Hell! Melanie had no intention of allowing herself to burn out in a hurry for pleasure. She had a career to think of.
