Introduction
"Once A Sucker ..." is one of the most exciting stories on a number of forbidden psychosexual themes ever written. What makes it more remarkable is that this swiftly moving, fascinating story was the first novel of the brilliant young English writer, Dennis Drew. Its appearance in the London bookstores and the furor it created among the critics soon brought about a summary ban on the book by the Rt. Hon. Lord Sitwell, Chief Censor.
The famous analyst, Dr. Scymanski, has discussed some of the sexual perversions the reader will find recurring throughout the story as follows:
"I have treated cases of lesbianism and homosexuality where the concept of the lover's jealousy and exclusive possession of the sex object seem to have been reversed. As an illustration one of my patients, a wealthy homosexual, Mr. B., actually reveled in jealousy and visual self-torture. He would actually have his lover fol lowed by detectives. However, if his partner confessed to having anal or oral intercourse with someone else, Mr. B. was immediately pacified: 'I know the poor fellow couldn't help being tempted by those urges of his,' he would say.
"Then to prove their 'freedom and bisexuality' Mr. B. and his partner would have intercourse with the same girl in each other's presence. They would observe and comment on each other's penis strokes before achieving ejaculation, the intensity of their orgasms and even the amount of sperm each had spurted. There was a complete absence of jealousy in respect to the girl. As a matter of fact, except for using her vagina as their common outlet, they ignored her completely.
"Mr. B. would then end the session by insisting that his partner demonstrate his complete subservience to him. This would generally take the form of having him orally kiss the still sperm-dripping vagina of the girl. Sometimes the girl would also be obliged to orally stimulate his partner's penis to a second ejaculation. This in turn would induce a spontaneous orgasm in the watching Mr. B.
"I considered Mr. B to have a strong tendency to infantile megalomania and voyeurism....."
Applying the above observations to this story, the reader will note how an apparently minor sexual perversion can soon enmesh one in a veritable morass of abnormal sex. We leave it to the reader to draw the obvious conclusion.
Continental Classics presents "Once A Sucker ..." in its original complete and unexpurgated form. It is recommended only for the graduate student and the mature adult reader.
