Conclusion
Teen-ism used to be an age bracket - those years of one's life between childhood and the age of twenty. Today, teen-ism has more the aspects of a completely foreign country! Teen-agers have their own culture, their own national heroes, their own native dress and costume, and almost their own language. And, like any other foreign country, they have their own sexual customs and behavior!
What are we to do about this new and primitive nation? Shall we send in missionaries to try to convert them, or should we receive missionaries from them and listen to their ideas? Should we give them a seat at the United Nations, like any other newly-emerging country?
A recent motion picture showed the United States governed by a President of twenty-one, who sent the more mature adults to "concentration camps." Fantasy? Or the shape of things to come? Ten years ago, films depicting men orbiting the earth or landing on the moon were classified as science fiction. Today those things are fact. How soon will the teen-aged nation send their first rocket of revolution smashing into the complacent stratosphere of the post-teen world? Or have they done it already and are we too complacent to be aware of it?
This book has tried to explore and evaluate the teen and sub-teen territory. It may have shocked some of us, it may have alerted others. In years to come, it may be looked upon like those early Sixteenth Century maps "of the world," which inaccurately showed the New World as an appendage of the continent of Asia. But, at least they showed that the New World existed!
This book has tried to show that a New World exists today, a world of teens and sub-teens who may shape the future!
